Marc Mallet

Marc is a veteran teacher from Bordeaux, France. He studied at Ecole Normale in Bordeaux and earned an M.A.T. at Georgia State University. He recently received the distinction of "chevalier dans l'ordre des Palmes Académiques" from the French Ministry of Education. Marc has varied experiences including heading the Foreign Language department at The Lovett School, teaching course at the Alliance Française and coordinating exchange programs with school children in France. Marc brings us his experience from the French-American bilingual school in Berkeley, CA where he acted as curriculum coordinator for the French program.

Claire Schlumberger

Claire studied Applied Foreign Languages at the Sorbonne University in Paris and received her Masters from ISIT, a University for Interpreters and Translators in Paris. She specialized in International Affairs and Finance, earning degrees from the German and British Chambers of Commerce in Paris.

Claire has worked in Software localization and as a freelance translator in Europe and the US. She is an accredited member of AAIT and a member of ATA.

Catherine is a native of France where she completed her undergraduate studies. She has extensive experience with pre-school children and bilingual education. For several years Catherine directed her own day care center before joining Ecole du Samedi. She has taught the Bout'chous course since 2006 and also teaches a Tabula Rasa.

Alice is a native speaker of French. She was born in Bénin and completed her undergraduate studies in France and in the United States. Alice has worked as an assistant principal at the Atlanta International School. She is a certified French teacher with several years of teaching experience and she is now employed by the Atlanta Public Schools.

Chantal Edjang is a very experienced French teacher. Her experience includes: Department Chair (Present), French teacher (2000-present) Design team member in a Connect school (2003-2004) - Foreign Language Mentor and assessor in Atlanta Public Schools (2003-2007) - Translator at Business Linguistic inc (2000).

Beginners Deme Amadou Samba (bio) Kmariame21@yahoo.fr

Deme Amadou Samba is from Mauritania, West Africa. He speaks 7 languages and has lived in the United States for 10 years. Deme has been teaching for 14 years. He has taught French, English and Arabic. He is currently teaching elementary French in Cumming, GA and prior to that he taught in Lumpkin County.

Intermediate/Advanced Sarah Meurisse (bio) smeurisse@lovett.org

Sarah Meurisse grew up from Missoula, Montana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Bozeman, MT, and she spent several years studying abroad in France, Spain, and England. More recently Sarah lived in Amiens, France. She loves teaching kids of all ages, and has experience teaching French and Spanish to students ranging from kindergarten to seniors in high school. Currently, Sarah teaches French and Spanish to middle schoolers.

Erika was raised in England. She completed her higher education in England, France and Italy. She holds an undergraduate degree in French and Italian and a Masters in Contemporary European Politics. She has worked as an instructor with the preschool Play with Words and she has been with Ecole du Samedi since 2004.

Françoise is a native of France where she completed her undergraduate studies before moving to the United States with her family. Françoise has several years of French teaching experience with children and adults and is now employed by the Atlanta Language Institute.

CP1 Nathalie Anderson (bio) esjn@msn.com

Nathalie is a native French speaker. She was born in Vannes, Morbihan and she completed her undergraduate studies in Paris. Nathalie moved to Atlanta in 1986 with her husband. She is a certified public school teacher currently working at Riverside Elementary School in Cobb County. She has been teaching the Cours Preparatoire for the past four years at Ecole du Samedi.

Fariza is a native of Algeria. She is a certified French Secondary school teacher who graduated from the Ecole Normale of Alger. She taught French for 10 years before coming to the United States. She is now a full time instructor at Crème de la Crème. She has been teaching at Ecole du Samedi since 2004.

Adult Classes Laurent Meurisse (bio) laurentmeurisse@hotmail.com

Laurent Meurisse, born in 1981 in Picardie, France. He earned his master's degree at University of Picardie Jules Verne. Prior to moving to the U.S., Laurent was an education assistant for 3 years at Mireille Grenet High School (Compiègne) and Boucher-de-Perthes (Abbeville). Laurent has been teaching French for the intermediate adult course at École du Samedi since 2009.

Modeste Malu Nyimi est originaire d'un pays francophone, la République Démocratique du Congo. Il est détenteur de deux diplômes de maitrise, en Théologie et Sciences Humaines, et en Théologie de l'Université Catholique du Congo en République Démocratique du Congo. Il est docteur en Théologie de l'Université Catholique de Nijmegen aux Pays-Bas. Pendant des années, Il a enseigné en Français, dans les institutions d'enseignement supérieur de son pays et à l'étranger. Il est auteur de nombreuses publications, pour la plupart, rédigées en Français. Il est un familier de l'éducation des adultes.

Modeste Malu Nyimi is a native of French speaking, Democratic Republic of Congo. He earned two masters in Theology and Human Sciences, and in Theology from the Catholic University of Congo. He also earned a Ph.D. in Theology, from the Catholic University of Nijmegen in the Netherlands. He has taught for many years in Universities in his country and abroad. He is the author of numerous books and articles mostly published in French. Modeste loves teaching French to adults.
